Council of Europe condemns terrorist attack in Turkey
Statement by Antonio Miloshoski,Chairman of the Committee of Ministers, and Mevlüt Çavusoglu, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe on the terrorist attack on the Iskenderun Naval Base in Turkey
“We condemn yesterday’s terrorist attack on the Iskenderun Naval Base in Turkey, and are deeply saddened at the loss of life it caused. It comes after an escalation of terrorist attacks in recent days.
The Council of Europe condemns terrorism in any form, which is an affront to the values we defend. Terrorism targets the right to live in dignity and security, and thus goes against all Council of Europe values.
Terrorism, which is one of the main threats against our societies, cannot be justifiable on any ground. Such acts have no place in a democracy.”
