IV. Activities and experience in the field of human rights:
I have participated in several academic and non-academic Workshops about human rights.
I have decided several major judicial cases, such as the case of ministerial responsability for contaminated blood, two cases of ministerial corruption, a case of money laundering with the money of a big football club, several cases of transnational organized drug trafficking, two cases of trafficking of human beings and I am currently judging the case of an alleged terrorist organization.
My lessons of prison law and judicial organization are based on the ECHR, the CPT, the UNCHR and the CAT standards.
My Master and my PhD Dissertations discuss the most delicate dogmatic problems that the actual European doctrine faces, such as the direction of the reform of criminal justice, the balance between security and freedom in the criminal and prison policies, the place of the prosecution and of the victim in the penal procedure, the future of the principles of the impartiality of the judge, the presumption of innocence, the separation between prosecutorial and judging authorities, among others.
