1. Recalling its Recommendation 902 (1980) on youth co-operation in Europe, and Recommendation 1019 (1985) on the participation of young people in political and institutional life ;
2. Repeating its call for greater recognition by Assembly committees and political groups of the preoccupations of young people in Europe, and for the closer involvement of young people in Assembly activities ;
3. Welcoming, as an interesting initiative, the decision by the Liberal, Democratic and Reformers Group to invite on a regular basis two youth representatives to participate in group meetings during Assembly sessions,
4. Calls on the other political groups to follow this example and for the provision of financial support from the Assembly budget ;
5. Asks all committees to seek more actively to reflect the views of young people in the preparation of reports and to play a more active part in relevant activities organised by the Council of Europe in the youth sector ;
6. Asks its Committee on Culture and Education to continue to assure (in particular through its Sub-committee on youth and sport) liaison with Council of Europe activity in the youth sector and to co-ordinate the involvement, where appropriate, of other Assembly committees.
