ORDER No. 510 (1995)1 on a comprehensive
European regional planning strategy (10th session of the CEMAT2)
1.The Assembly refers to its Recommendation 1272 (1995) on a comprehensive European
regional planning strategy (10th session of the European Conference of Ministers
responsible for Regional Planning).
2.It recalls the importance it attaches to the role of the Council of Europe for
setting up a Europe-wide regional planning policy.
3.It instructs its Committee on the Environment, Regional Planning and Local
Authorities to continue its reflection in this field and:
i.to organise meetings and hearings with experts on this subject;
ii.to develop co-operation with the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of
Europe and the relevant intergovernmental committees of the Council of Europe, as well as
with the relevant committee of the European Parliament.
