Secretaries General meet in Copenhagen to discuss co-operation

PACE Secretary General Wojciech Sawicki joined his counterparts from the NATO and OSCE Parliamentary Assemblies, David Hobbs and Spencer Oliver, in Copenhagen this week for the latest in a series of meetings to discuss co-operation between the three bodies.

The Secretaries General discussed ongoing collaboration in the field of election observation, including expected missions in the autumn of 2015. Other topics of discussion included the challenges of finding hosts for meetings, gender balance in the parliamentary assemblies, and the response of their organisations to the ongoing crisis in Ukraine.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to hold an exchange of views on "good practice" within the three Secretariats and to compare calendars for forthcoming meetings.

The Secretaries General agreed to continue ongoing consultations, which began in 2012 and have included meetings in Strasbourg and Brussels.
