PACE co-rapporteurs to make fact-finding visit to Montenegro

Terry Leyden (Ireland, ALDE) and Ionut Marian Stroe (Romania, EPP/CD), co-rapporteurs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) for the post-monitoring dialogue with Montenegro, will make a fact-finding visit to the country from 17 to 20 November 2015 to discuss the implementation of the Assembly’s latest resolution, and notably the recent political developments, the situation of the media and the electoral process with a view to the 2016 parliamentary elections.

Meetings are scheduled in Podgorica with the President of the Republic, the Prime Minister, the President of the Parliament, the Ministers of Justice and Interior, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Information Society and Telecommunications, the President of the State Election Commission as well as the agency for prevention of corruption and the Supreme State Prosecutor.

The co-rapporteurs will also meet the delegation of Montenegro to PACE, the leaders of the political factions of the majority and the opposition, as well as the, representatives of international organisations, medias and NGOs.
