OSCE, NATO and Council of Europe PA Secretaries General discuss co-operation in Strasbourg
PACE Secretary General Wojciech Sawicki today welcomed the Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE PA) Roberto Montella and his counterpart from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization Parliamentary Assembly (NATO PA), David Hobbs, for the latest in regular consultations between the three Secretaries General.
The meeting focused on a review of their respective political agendas and current challenges for international organisations, including their response to the terrorist threat.
It also provided an opportunity to hold an exchange of views on their cooperation, particularly in the field of election observation missions. In this context, they were informed by the PACE Secretary General about the statement of the PACE pre-electoral delegation in Skopje assessing the pre-electoral climate of the early parliamentary elections scheduled for 5 June. They also reviewed other elections scheduled during the remainder of 2016.
Other topics of discussion included "good practices" within the three Secretariats concerning upcoming sessions and meetings.
This was the sixth in a series of meetings to discuss co-operation between the three bodies since their launch in 2013. The Secretaries General agreed to continue their ongoing trilateral consultations.
