Rapporteur’s visit to Denmark focuses on ‘the inclusion of persons with disabilities on the labour market’

Adão Silva (Portugal, EPP/CD), rapporteur for the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), will conduct a fact-finding visit to Denmark on 10-11 September, in the context of the preparation of his report entitled “For a disability-inclusive workforce”.

This visit is mainly aimed at identifying the means implemented by the Danish authorities to promote access to employment for persons with disabilities.

The rapporteur is due to meet the Danish Minister for Employment, Troels Lund Poulsen, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Social Affairs and of the Ministry of Education, parliamentarians and NGOs. Meetings are also scheduled with representatives of the Danish Institute for Human Rights and local authorities in Taastrup.

Finally, Mr Silva will visit a centre dedicated to the employment of persons who are deaf or hard of hearing in Castberggård.
