PACE to observe the general elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina

A 19-member delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), headed by Dame Cheryl Gillan (United Kingdom, EC) will observe the conduct of the 7 October general elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina, alongside observers from the OSCE and NATO Parliamentary Assemblies, the European Parliament, and the OSCE’s Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR).

The delegation will meet representatives of political parties and the Chairperson of the Central Election Commission, as well as representatives of civil society and the media, before observing the ballot on 7 October.

An expert from the Venice Commission, the Council of Europe’s group of independent legal experts, will provide legal support during the visit.

A joint press conference is scheduled to take place on Monday 8 October at 3 pm at Novotel Sarajevo Bristol located at Fra Filipa Lastrica 2, in Banja Luka Conference Room.
