PACE Secretary General meets with his counterpart of the Moroccan Chamber of Representatives

Relations between PACE and the Moroccan Parliament, which enjoys the status of partner for democracy in the Assembly, the active contribution of members of the Moroccan delegation to the work of PACE and the European Conference of Presidents of Parliaments to be held in Strasbourg on 24 and 25 October, were among the topics discussed at a meeting today in Strasbourg between PACE Secretary General Wojciech Sawicki and the Secretary General of the House Representatives of Morocco, Najib El Khadi.

They also discussed the priorities of the co-operation programme with the Council of Europe which is due to be launched in October 2019, the forthcoming establishment of a Center for Parliamentary Studies and Research in Morocco and its future co-operation with the European Center for Parliamentary Research and Documentation as well as the preparation of a guide on ethics for civil servants and the establishment of a code of ethics in the Moroccan Parliament.

The organisation of a regional conference on partnership for democracy, in cooperation with the Political Affairs Committee, is envisaged to be held  in Morocco during the first quarter of 2020.
