Rapporteur’s visit to Sweden focuses on ‘the gender dimension of foreign policy’

Petra Stienen (Netherlands, ALDE), rapporteur for the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), will conduct a fact-finding visit to Sweden on 10-11 October, in the context of the preparation of her report on “The gender dimension of foreign policy”.

The visit is aimed primarily at gathering information on feminist foreign policy and discussing the results of this policy, five years after it was launched in 2014 by Sweden's former Foreign Minister Margot Wallström.

The rapporteur is due to meet the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, the Ambassador for Gender Equality, various parliamentary committees, the Swedish delegation to PACE, academics, experts and NGO representatives.
