Election of Judges to the European Court of Human Rights
1. Report of the Sub-Committee on the Election of Judges to the European Court of Human Rights
The Sub-Committee held a meeting in Strasbourg on 29 September 2013, with Mr Klaas de VRIES, Netherlands, Socialist Group in the Chair.
2. Introduction
In accordance with previous practice and with the decisions the Assembly adopted in its Resolution 1200 (1999) as modified by Resolution 1646 (2009), the Sub-Committee on the Election of Judges to the European Court of Human Rights held interviews with candidates to the Court in respect of Romania. A list of members of the Sub-Committee who participated in the meeting can be found in Appendix II.
3. Conclusion of the Sub-Committee on the list of candidates submitted by Romania, Contracting State to the European Convention on Human Rights
The Sub-Committee recommends, by a large majority, the candidature of Ms Iulia Antoanella MOTOC as the most qualified candidate.
