Election of Judges to the European Court of Human Rights

1. Report of the Sub-Committee on the Election of Judges to the European Court of Human Rights

The sub-committee held a meeting in Paris on 15 January 2015, with Lord Tomlinson (United Kingdom, Socialist Group) in the Chair.

2. Introduction

In accordance with previous practice and with the decisions the Parliamentary Assembly adopted in its Resolution 1200 (1999) as modified by Resolution 1646 (2009),

3. Conclusions of the sub-committee on the lists of candidates submitted by Bulgaria and Serbia, Contracting States to the European Convention on Human Rights

3.1. Bulgaria

The sub-committee interviewed all the candidates on 15 January 2015.

Following interviews with the candidates (in alphabetical order), the sub-committee, by an overwhelming majority, recommends the candidature of Mr Yonko GROZEV, as the most qualified candidate.

3.2. Serbia

The sub-committee interviewed all the candidates on 15 January 2015.

Following interviews with the candidates (in alphabetical order), the sub-committee, by an overwhelming majority, recommends the candidature of Mr Branko LUBARDA, as the most qualified candidate.
