Election of the Judges to the European Court of Human Rights

This motion has not been discussed in the Assembly and commits only those who have signed it.

The Assembly notes that its rules governing the procedure followed for the election of the judges to the European Court of Human Rights are scattered over a number of resolutions and recommendations, including Resolution 1082 (1996), Recommendation 1295 (1996), and Resolutions 1200 (1999), 1646 (2009) and 2002 (2014).

It resolves to re-examine these rules with a view to restating and updating them as need be in a single new resolution.
