The Committee on Migration, Refugees and Demography, meeting in Strasbourg on 22 January 2001 (2.00–3.00 pm) with Mr Díaz de Mera (Spain, EPP/CD) in the Chair:

As regards:

–        Transit migration in central and eastern Europe (Rapporteur: Mr Iwinski, Poland, SOC):  took position on the amendments to the report;

–        Humanitarian situation of refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Chechnya (Rapporteur: Mr Iwinski, Poland, SOC): approved a draft report and adopted a draft recommendation;

–        decided to resume its meeting in Strasbourg on 22 January 2001 (7.30 pm), 23 January 2001 (8.30 am) and 25 January 2001 (2 pm).
