The Sub-Committee on Migration (of the Committee on Migration, Refugees and Demography), meeting in Budapest (Hungary) on 15-16 November 2001, with Mr Connor (Ireland, EPP/CD) in the Chair:

–        held a hearing on the specific situation of young migrants, in co-operation with the European Youth Centre Budapest, with the participation of Dr Sándor PINTÉR, Hungarian Minister of the Interior, and Dr Tamás DEUTSCH, Hungarian Minister of Youth and Sport; NGO representatives, as well as representatives from the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and of International Organization for Migration (IOM);

–        took note of the draft programme of the Ministerial Conference on "Migrants in our societies: which policies for the 21^st century?" to be held in Helsinki in September 2002.
