      Rule 72 - Secretariat of the Parliamentary Assembly

      72.1. The Secretariat of the Parliamentary Assembly shall be run by the Secretary General of the Assembly who is elected by it See the report on the general revision of the Rules of Procedure (Doc. 8361, paragraph 15). For the election procedure, see also the regulations relating to the appointment of the Secretary General, the Deputy Secretary General and the Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly having the rank of Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe ( {P: EN_CEGEDCHF} and following) and the provisions relating to the procedure for elections by the Parliamentary Assembly ( {P: EN_CEGBGFJG} ). and shall be assisted by the administrative staff required for its work.       72.2. The Secretary General of the Assembly shall perform his duties under the authority of the Assembly and shall be responsible and accountable to its Bureau.
