The reasons of the divisions of Europe

Motion for a resolution

The positions European states developed before, during and in the aftermath of the war in Iraq showed many deep divisions, differences and tensions between the governments and the parliaments of Europe.

In order to overcome these divisions and in order to develop common European polities and policies we should understand their roots, causes and backgrounds which are historical, cultural, psychological and the result of different perceptions of similar and different experiences.

Therefore the Assembly asks for a report by the appropriate committee in order to study and to elaborate on the deep causes of the divisions we have experienced in the past months and to evaluate ways to overcome them in order to bridge the different gaps.
