            The Assembly:

            Taking note of the unacceptable situation created in the eastern part of the Republic of Moldova as the result of the closure of the schools using Latin script by the self proclaimed authorities in Tiraspol;

            Expressing its deep concern for the effects of the violation of the right to education of the children and the general disregard for human rights by the illegitimate Tiraspol regime;

            In agreement with the steps taken made by the Government of the Republic of Moldova and with the stances on this issue by the international fora,

            Calls upon the governments of the member states of the Council of Europe and the international organisations to continue the efforts of the positive settlement of the school issue in accordance with the European standards,

            Asks the Committee of Ministers to follow closely the case of the schools in Transdniestria within its own procedures,

            Asks that a report be prepared on the situation of education in the Transdniestrian region of the Republic of Moldova.
