Exploring ways of a closer association between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Council of Europe

Motion for a resolution

presented by Mr Christodoulides and others

1.       Taking into account that a large part of the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, geographically and culturally belongs to Europe,

2.       At the same time due to the great progress in this country as far as democratic, economical, political and social, fields is concerned, we believe that the time has come for the Council of Europe to further develop its relationship with Kazakhstan, something which will be of a mutual benefit in the long – run,

3.       It is our strong belief that a closer association between Kazakhstan and the Council of Europe will undoubtedly contribute towards further democratization and prosperity of this country.

4.       We therefore invite the Council of Europe to examine ways and means for this association to materialize in the near future.
