In the draft resolution, after paragraph 13.2, insert the following paragraph:

"cease disproportionate and excessive searches and checks carried out by armed and masked members of the security forces in Crimean Tatar religious institutions, businesses and private residences".

Explanatory note

Systematic discrimination and intimidation of Crimean Tatars and intrusive search of their homes, businesses and public and religious buildings have been ongoing since the annexation of Crimean territory. The raids by local security forces on the Crimean Tatar Mejlis building in Simferopol on 16 September and the mosque in Yalta on 22 September are solid cases in point.
