Election of Judges to the European Court of Human Rights
1. Report of the Committee on the Election of Judges to the European Court of Human Rights
The committee held a meeting in Paris on 17 September 2015 with Mr Klaas de Vries (Netherlands, Socialist Group) in the Chair.
2. Introduction
In accordance with previous practice and as specified in Parliamentary Assembly Resolution 2002 (2014) , the Committee on the Election of Judges to the European Court of Human Rights assessed the qualifications of the candidates to the Court in respect of the Slovak Republic. The committee interviewed all the candidates on 17 September 2015. A list of members of the committee who participated in the meeting can be found in Appendix 2.
3. Conclusions of the committee on the lists of candidates submitted by the Slovak Republic, Contracting State to the European Convention on Human Rights
The committee recommends, by a clear majority, the candidature of Ms Alena Poláčková as the most qualified candidate.
