Election of Judges to the European Court of Human Rights

1. Report of the Committee on the Election of Judges to the European Court of Human Rights

The Committee held a meeting in Strasbourg on 19 June 2016 with Mr Boriss Cilevičs (Latvia, SOC), in the Chair.

2. Introduction

concerned. The curricula vitae of candidates can be found in Assembly Doc. 14050. A list of members of the Committee who participated in the meeting can be found in Appendix 2.

3. Conclusions of the committee on the list of candidates submitted by the United Kingdom, Contracting State to the European Convention on Human Rights

The Committee recommends, by a narrow majority, Mr Tim Eicke, over Ms Jessica Simor, as the most qualified candidate.
