In the draft resolution, paragraph 9.5.7, after the words "Judicial Reform Strategy", insert the following words:

"which indicates the commitment of Turkish authorities to expand the protection of fundamental freedoms despite the difficulties and serious challenges Turkey has been facing with regard to the failed coup d’état, terrorist attacks and conflict in Syria."

Explanatory note

In compliance with the longstanding cooperation between Turkey and the Council of Europe, adding these phrases would encourage the ongoing reform efforts and legitimate concerns of Turkey.
