1. Report of the Committee on the Election of Judges to the European Court of Human Rights

The Committee held a meeting by videoconference on 15 January 2021 with Mr Volker Ullrich (Germany, EPP/CD), in the Chair.

2. Introduction

The Committee on the Election of Judges to the European Court of Human Rights assessed the lists of the candidates to the Court in respect of Switzerland and Greece.

3. Conclusions of the Committee on the lists of candidates submitted by Switzerland and Greece

Switzerland

The Committee interviewed all the candidates on 15 January 2021.

The Committee recommends to the Assembly, by an overwhelming majority, Mr Andreas Zünd as the most qualified candidate.

Greece

The Committee interviewed all the candidates on 15 January 2021.

The Committee recommends to the Assembly, by a clear majority, Mr Ioannis Ktistakis as the most qualified candidate.
