REPORT on the examination of credentials of Representatives, Substitutes and Special Guests

presented by the President of the Assembly

1.       In accordance with Rule 6, paragraphs 1 and 4, of the Rules of Procedure, the President of the Assembly has received the credentials of new representatives and substitutes for the 2nd part of the 1995 Session of the Assembly, which have been transmitted in due form by the competent authorities of four member states.

2.       Finland has appointed its new delegation following legislative elections on 19 March 1995.

3.       Greece has appointed two new substitutes to replace MM. Beis and Stefanopoulos who have resigned.

4.       Hungary has appointed a new substitute to replace Mr Szabó who has resigned.

5.       Italy has appointed a new substitute to replace Mr Dolazza who has resigned.

6.       The Assembly is called upon to express its decision on the validation of the credentials of the representatives and substitutes whose names are given below.

7.       In the case of objection or justified contestation, the contested credentials shall be referred without debate to the Committee on Rules of Procedure which shall report back to the Assembly, in accordance with Rule 6, paragraph 5, of the Rules of Procedure.

8.       In accordance with Rule 55 a, paragraph 7, of the Rules of Procedure, the President of the Assembly has received the credentials for one member of a special guest delegation for the 2nd part of the 1995 Session of the Assembly.

9.       Croatia has appointed a new member to replace Mrs Ivanišević who has retired.

10.       The Assembly is called upon to express its decision on the validation of the credentials of the special guest whose name is given below.

11.       In the case of objection or contestation on the grounds of Rule 55 a, paragraph 1, of the Rules of Procedure, the contested credentials shall be referred without debate to a joint meeting of the Committees on Relations with European Non-Member Countries and on Rules of Procedure. These committees shall report to the enlarged Bureau at the earliest opportunity, in accordance with Rule 55 a, paragraph 7, of the Rules of Procedure.
