Doc. 6568

on the case of Gregory Taylor

      The undersigned, members of the Assembly,

1.       Deeply concerned about the case of Gregory Taylor of Yorkshire, England, whose death in the Foreign Legion was described as due to natural causes but where the post mortem in England revealed a massive blow to the head;

2.       Noting that the family were assured that the reasonable costs of transport and of the funeral would be met by the French authorities,

3.       Regret that these costs have not been reimbursed and consider that it is no longer reasonable for citizens of other member states to be placed in a position in which they can be expected to die for France inexpensively.

      Signed:       HARDY
