Doc. 6626

WRITTEN DECLARATION No. 218

on the protection of human life

The undersigned, members of the Assembly,

Express their gratification following the decisions taken by the Congress of Polish Physicians on 13 December 1991. The Congress proclaimed its code of medical ethics requiring the medical profession to protect human life from conception to natural death.

This coincided with the signature of a bill for a new law to prohibit abortion by approximately half the members of the Sejm.

We therefore hope that in the months ahead Poland will rejoin the family of nations protecting human life from conception to natural death.
