MOTION FOR A RECOMMENDATION

on the situation of Mr Vuk Draskovic

presented by Mr PINI and others

      The Assembly,

      Concerned by reports of the treatment and medical condition of Vuk Draskovic, arrested in Belgrade earlier this month following a demonstration by the Serbian Renewal Party, of which he was the candidate in the December 1990 presidential election (16% of the vote);

      Recommends that the Committee of Ministers declare its support, as a matter of urgency, for any initiative taken by the CSCE or its chairmanship with a view to ascertaining the facts of Mr Draskovic's present physical condition and his need for medical treatment.
