COMMUNICATION FROM THE COMMITTEE OF MINISTERS

Interim Reply to Recommendation 1214 (1993)

on the Vienna Summit (8-9 October 1993)

(adopted by the Committee of Ministers on 10 September 1993

at the 497th meeting of the Ministers' Deputies)

      The Committee of Ministers and its Working Party to prepare the Summit, are closely considering Assembly Recommendation 1214 (1993) on the Vienna Summit (8-9 October 1993).

      The exchange of views between Mr Alois Mock, Chairman-in-Office of the Committee of Ministers and Austrian Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs, and the Assembly's Political Affairs Committee, meeting in Vienna on 10 September 1993, is welcomed as an excellent way of pursuing the dialogue between the Council of Europe's two organs, notably in view of the Summit preparations. Moreover, the Assembly's attention is also drawn to the interim reply adopted by the Committee of Ministers, at the 497th meeting of the Deputies (September 1993), to Assembly Recommendation 1212 (1993) on the adoption of a revised Statute of the Council of Europe.

      The Committee of Ministers will keep the Assembly informed of developments, as preparations for the Summit progress.
