Examination of credentials of Representatives, Substitutes and Special Guests

In accordance with Rule 6, paragraphs 1 and 4, of the Rules of Procedure, the President of the Assembly has received the credentials of new representatives and substitutes for the 2nd part of the 1996 Ordinary Session of the Assembly, which have been transmitted in due form by the competent authorities of six member states.

Austria has appointed its new delegation following elections.

Belgium has appointed a new substitute to replace Mr Simonet who has resigned.

Finland has appointed a new representative to replace Mr Korkeaoja who has resigned.

Latvia has appointed a new substitute to replace Mr Valdmanis who has resigned.

Russia has appointed Mr Sharapov, former substitute, as a representative to replace Mr Kuznetsov who has become a substitute.

Turkey has appointed its new delegation following elections.

The Assembly is called upon to express its decision on the validation of the credentials of the representatives and substitutes whose names are given below.

In the case of objection or justified contestation, the contested credentials shall be referred without debate to the Committee on Rules of Procedure which shall report back to the Assembly, in accordance with Rule 6, paragraph 5, of the Rules of Procedure.

In accordance with Rule 55 a, paragraph 7, of the Rules of Procedure, the President of the Assembly has received the credentials for the special guest delegation of Belarus for the 1996 Ordinary Session of the Assembly.

The Assembly is called upon to express its decision on the validation of the credentials of the special guests whose names are given below.

In the case of objection or contestation on the grounds of Rule 55 a, paragraph 1, of the Rules of Procedure, the contested credentials shall be referred without debate to a joint meeting of the Committees on Relations with European Non-Member Countries and on Rules of Procedure. These committees shall report to the enlarged Bureau at the earliest opportunity, in accordance with Rule 55 a, paragraph 7, of the Rules of Procedure.
