I.       Letter from the President of the Standing Conference of Local and Regional Authorities of Europe (CLRAE) to the President of the Assembly dated 14 January 1994

Dear Mr President,

      In accordance with Article 1b of the Charter of the CLRAE, I have pleasure in sending you herewith the text of Resolution 255 (1993) on "HIV-AIDS - Activities of Local and Regional Authorities", to be submitted to the Parliamentary Assembly for opinion.

      I would also inform you that this resolution has been forwarded to the Committee of Ministers drawing their attention to paragraph V.3 of the resolution, in which the CLRAE makes several recommendations to the Committee of Ministers.
