WRITTEN DECLARATION No. 234 on Raoul Wallenberg (originally tabled on 30 January 1995)

      The undersigned, members of the Assembly,

      Honour Raoul Wallenberg on the fiftieth anniversary of his disappearance for his outstanding work on behalf of those persecuted in Hungary in World War II;

      Express concern about the continuing lack of definite information about his present existence and whereabouts, which is most particularly worrying for his family and friends;

      And call upon the Committee of Ministers to take all possible steps to obtain from the former Soviet Union information about this heroic man and, if he is still alive, to secure his return to freedom.
