Reply from the Committee of Ministers

adopted at the 661^st meeting of the Ministers’ Deputies (2-3 mars 1999)

The Committee of Ministers has noted the texts adopted by the Parliamentary Assembly at the first part of the 1999 session (25-29 January 1999) and drew attention of member states' Governments to Recommendations 1394-1399(1999).

The appropriate rapporteur groups have been instructed to consider Recommendations 1394, 1396 and 1397. Further to Recommendation 1398 "Situation of children in Albania", terms of reference have been assigned to the European Committee for Social Cohesion (CDCS) instructing it to study through the Forum for Children, the follow-up which could be given to this Recommendation. Recommendations 1395 and 1399 will be considered directly at the level of the Ministers' Deputies. Resolutions 1179 and 1180 will be taken into account during the examination of the ADACS programmes.

Opinions Nos. 209 and 210 have been referred to the appropriate rapporteur groups and an exchange of views took place between the Ministers' Deputies and the President of the Parliamentary Assembly concerning Opinion No. 208 (Building Greater Europe without dividing lines – opinion on the report by the Committee of Wise Persons). The appropriate rapporteur group will consider the budget proposal which the President of the Parliamentary Assembly at the last Joint Committee.
