Reply from the Committee of Ministers

adopted at the 707^th meeting of the Ministers’ Deputies (26 April 2000)

The Committee of Ministers took note of the texts adopted by the Parliamentary Assembly at the second part of the 2000 Session (3-7 April 2000).

It transmitted Opinion No. 217 (2000) to the Consultative Committee of the Convention for the Protection of Individuals with regard to Automatic Processing of Personal Data (T-PD) so that it can take account thereof in its work.

The Committee of Ministers brought Recommendations 1450 to 1460 (2000) to the attention of the Governments of the member States. It entrusted Recommendations 1450, 1452, 1453, 1454 and 1455 (2000) as well as 1457, 1458 and 1460 (2000) to its relevant Rapporteur Groups and also to the appropriate committees of experts and other competent organs for consideration and opinion.

The Committee of Ministers has held a first exchange of views on Recommendation 1451 (2000) and will resume consideration of the text at one of its forthcoming meetings.

Having considered Recommendation 1456 (2000) for the first time at the 706th meeting of the Deputies (11 April 2000), it is continuing detailed consideration with a view to providing an early reply.

Furthermore, the Committee of Ministers transmitted Recommendations 1455, 1457 and 1459 (2000) to relevant international organisations, for information.

The Committee of Ministers took note of Resolutions 1213 to 1214 (2000) and of Orders Nos. 564 and 565 (2000).
