Democratic process in Yugoslavia

Motion for an order

presented by Mr Eörsi and others

This motion has not been discussed in the Assembly and commits only the members who have signed it

      The Assembly,

1.       Concerned by the developments in Yugoslavia, especially by the widely alleged abuses of the Milosevic regime concerning the elections held on 24 September 2000;

2.       Expressing its wish to promote democratic process in Yugoslavia and to see democratic Yugoslavia as a pillar of stability in the region and a potential applicant to the Council of Europe,

3.       In order to assist achieving these goals calls upon its Political Affairs Committee to provide reports and recommendations to the Assembly on a regular basis.
