Examination of credentials of Representatives, Substitutes and Special Guests

Report

presented by the President of the Assembly

1. In accordance with Rule 6, paragraphs 1 and 4, of the Rules of Procedure, the President of the Assembly has received the credentials of new representatives and substitutes for the 2^nd part of the 2001 Ordinary Session of the Assembly, which have been transmitted in due form by the competent authorities of six member states.

2. Andorra has appointed its new delegation following parliamentary elections.

3. Croatia has appointed Mrs Bušić, former substitute, as a representative to replace Mr Bulić who has resigned. A new substitute has been appointed to replace Mrs Bušić.

4. Cyprus has appointed its new delegation following parliamentary elections.

5. Latvia has appointed a new representative to fill a vacant seat.

6. Poland has appointed a new substitute to replace Mr Łuczak who has resigned.

7. Russia has appointed a new substitute to replace Mr Chernomyrdin who has resigned.

8. The Assembly is called upon to express its decision on the validation of the credentials of the members whose names are given below.

9. In the case of objection or justified contestation, the contested credentials shall be referred without debate to the appropriate committee which shall report back to the Assembly, in accordance with Rules 7 and 8 of the Rules of Procedure.

10. In accordance with Rule 59.6 of the Rules of Procedure, the President of the Assembly has received the credentials for the special guest delegation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, following legislative elections.

11. The Assembly is called upon to express its decision on the validation of the credentials of the special guests whose names are given below.

12. In the case of objection or contestation on the grounds of Rule 59.1 of the Rules of Procedure, the contested credentials shall be referred without debate to a joint meeting of the Political Affairs Committee and the Committee on Rules of Procedure and Immunities. These committees shall report to the Bureau as soon as possible, in accordance with Rule 59.6 of the Rules of Procedure.
