The Committee of Ministers notes with interest the analysis of acquired rights as set out in paragraphs 1 to 3 of the recommendation, and endorses the principle evoked in paragraph 4. The Committee of Ministers also expresses its agreement with the necessity to ensure respect for commitments undertaken in order to assure social harmony, as well as respect for the principles of equal opportunities between women and men and an equitable geographic distribution. The Committee of Ministers will bear these points in mind whenever it is called upon to consider matters concerning Council of Europe staff members and in particular with regard to any proposals concerning pay or pensions.
