Freedom of expression in the media

Motion for an order

presented by Mr Libicki and others

This motion has not been discussed in the Assembly and commits only the members who have signed it

The Assembly is concerned about growing problems of freedom of the media in many countries of Europe.

The Council of Europe has itself developed a number of standards and practices in this area, which is a good reason for a common debate on both general and specific issues.

Therefore the Assembly asks its Committee on Culture, Science and Education to organise such a debate for the Assembly’s future part-sessions.
