Amendment 21 | Doc. 13851 | 29 September 2015

Signatories: Mr Pavlo UNGURYAN, Ukraine, EPP/CD ; Mr Ihor HUZ, Ukraine, EPP/CD ; Mr Georgii LOGVYNSKYI, Ukraine, EPP/CD ; Mr Aleksandar NIKOLOSKI, ''The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia'', EPP/CD ; Mr Egidijus VAREIKIS, Lithuania, EPP/CD ; Mr Emanuelis ZINGERIS, Lithuania, EPP/CD

In the draft resolution, paragraph 3, delete the last sentence.

Explanatory Note :

This statement sounds too categorical taking into consideration that the concept of human rights is constantly expanding and can come at odds with established religious beliefs. As recent cases have shown, an undue interpretation of Human Rights can infringe freedom of religion and freedom of expression.
