In the draft resolution, after paragraph 6, insert the following paragraph:
"The Assembly affirms that in the last 13 years many democratic reforms in line with the acquis communitaire aimed at solving the problems of Kurdish citizens and around 300 legislative amendments directly related to the issue were undertaken. The denial of the Kurdish identity and language was officially ended. Profound structural steps were taken to normalise life in the region. These steps were also commended in monitoring reports."
Explanatory Note :
The Turkish government has initiated many reforms for further democratisation in the country. Although these reforms have resolved the Kurdish issue, the problem of PKK terrorism continues. Today, it is understood that the problem of PKK terrorism and the Kurdish issue are completely separate.
