In the draft resolution, paragraph 9.2.5, replace the words:

"Italy, which requires a coordinated response of the international community, welcomes the end of the so-called "pushback" policy (resulting in forced return of irregular migrants and failed asylum seekers); at the same time, expresses its concerns about recent initiatives aimed at preventing rescue vessels from landing on Italian shores, thus putting the life of migrants and refugees at risk;"

with the following words:

"Europe, which requires a better co-ordinated response from the international community, notably from the EU and its member States, expresses its appreciation for the long-standing efforts of Italy that - despite being affected more than others by migration flows - has shown a greater capacity to combat the traffickers of human beings and to receive migrants; takes note of the decrease in migration flows and, consequently, of deaths at sea, as also highlighted in IOM and UNHCR reports; at the same time, underlines that legitimate policies aimed at reducing flows should avoid putting the life of migrants and refugees at risk; while acknowledging the progress made over the last few years,"
