In the draft resolution, paragraph 2, in the French version, replace the words "droits de l'homme" with the following words: "droits humains". (no English version)
Explanatory Note :
The word “homme” even with a capital letter, is not a neutral term. It excludes women. The French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean-Yves Le Drian, has supported use of the expression “droits humains”. It is suggested that this new term should henceforth be used in the French texts of the Parliamentary Assembly instead of the now outdated expression “droits de l’homme”.
