Fundamental rights for LGBTI people in Turkey

On 18 November 2017, the Ankara governor’s office banned all LGBTI events within the province for an indefinite period via a statement. Cancellations of events in Izmir, Bursa, Kocaeli, Mardin and Istanbul followed the Ankara ban. Film screenings, exhibitions, forums, panels and meetings by LGBTI groups are among the banned activities.

Could you request information from the Turkish government on what the government will do to ensure that Turkey respects the European Convention on Human Rights and the democratic rights of freedom of assembly and freedom of expression?
