Sport plays an important role in personal development and social cohesion as it is a powerful vehicle for the transmission of positive values and role models, particularly to young people. This role is closely linked to the respect and promotion, by all involved in the world of sport, of high ethical principles.

Video games have huge effects on young people’s social inclusion, and their professional and personal development. Moreover, violent video games are proven to have a potential negative impact on the behaviour of young people that left alone can only worsen.

The Parliamentary Assembly supports the conclusions of the 2012 Youth Assembly in what regards the young generation development by using sport activities as good practices and should investigate the ways to integrate these young people in their societies through their preferred sport activities.

The Assembly should focus on positively tackling these pressing issues and should formulate recommendations to member States to find inclusive methods for young people having developed specific competences to improve their social skills like individual interactions, team efforts and teamwork skills.
